Middle School (Years 9-11)

Pupils progressing to Upper Primary at The Olive School follow a rich, values-based curriculum designed to inspire exploration, critical thinking, and personal growth across all subjects.

Building on our Lower Primary foundation, P5 learners engage in subject-based instruction with enhanced project work. They explore Environmental Studies, Agriculture, and Local History while strengthening numeracy and literacy through cross-subject projects. For example, pupils investigate the impact of wetlands in Uganda by combining Science, Geography, and Art, culminating in a group presentation using handmade models and digital slides.

Experiential learning is core to this stage. Pupils participate in field trips to local farms, science centers, or the Uganda Museum, and undertake school-based research tasks that develop confidence in public speaking and collaborative problem-solving.
In Primary 6 and 7, learners begin structured preparation for the Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE), while continuing to benefit from a holistic, Christian-centered education. Core subjects include English, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies, delivered alongside enrichment areas such as Entrepreneurship, ICT, Kiswahili, and Biblical Studies.

Our team supports pupils through weekly academic clinics, holiday revision programs, and career discovery sessions. Learners are encouraged to take on leadership roles through prefectship, chapel participation, and mentorship of younger pupils, helping them grow as responsible, faith-driven leaders.
