When children join our Middle Primary section (Primary 4 to Primary 5), they enter an exciting phase of deeper learning, growing independence, and self-discovery. This stage offers a balanced mix of structured academics, creativity, and skill-building, all within a warm and inclusive school community.
Pupils are guided by experienced teachers who nurture curiosity and critical thinking while encouraging kindness, confidence, and collaboration. From project-based learning to extracurricular opportunities, Middle Primary learners are empowered to take initiative, ask meaningful questions, and build lasting friendships.
Entry Process
Children seeking admission to our Middle Primary section (Primary 4 to Primary 5) are welcomed through a simple and supportive entry process designed to understand each child's strengths, learning style, and readiness to thrive in our community.
Applicants are invited to spend a short time at school, during which they participate in informal class activities in English, Maths, and Reading. These sessions are not formal tests but are intended to give our teachers insight into each child’s academic development and how they engage with others in a classroom setting.
We may also invite your child to complete brief age-appropriate reasoning exercises or creative writing tasks in a relaxed setting. Our aim is to provide a comfortable experience that encourages confidence rather than pressure.
Parents will meet with our Admissions Team and Head of Middle Primary to discuss the child’s background, school experience, and any particular interests or learning needs.
If available, we kindly ask for a brief report or reference from the child’s current school or class teacher to help us build a full picture of their development.
We also offer dedicated support for children with Special Educational Needs or learning differences to ensure they can flourish from the very beginning.
Entry Process
Children applying to join our Middle Primary section (Primary 4 to Primary 5) are welcomed through a warm and supportive admissions experience. We aim to get to know your child in a relaxed environment that encourages them to be themselves and enjoy the visit.
As part of the process, your child will take part in a short classroom visit or observation morning. During this time, they may participate in informal tasks related to English, Maths, reading comprehension, or group activities designed to reflect typical lessons. There are no formal entrance exams, and no preparation is required.
We also offer the option of simple reasoning puzzles, storytelling, or writing exercises, depending on your child's age and confidence level — all conducted in a friendly and encouraging setting. Our staff focus on understanding your child's strengths, interests, and readiness for the curriculum ahead.
Parents or guardians will have an opportunity to meet with the Head of Middle Primary or a member of our Admissions Team to discuss their child's learning journey, any specific needs, and how we can best support their growth.
Where possible, we request a brief reference or school report from the child's current school or class teacher to supplement our understanding.
We provide tailored learning support for children with special educational needs or developmental differences to help every child succeed in their own way.
Once the visit is complete, successful applicants will receive an offer of admission with clear guidance on next steps.
Early Talent Recognition
In Middle Primary (Primary 4 to Primary 5), we celebrate children’s growing abilities and interests across academic, creative, and physical areas. While formal scholarships begin at later stages of school life, we actively identify and nurture emerging talents through enrichment clubs, project-based learning, and performance opportunities.
Children who show exceptional enthusiasm or ability in areas such as English, Maths, Art, Music, Drama, or Sport are encouraged to take part in extended learning activities and school events that allow them to shine and gain confidence.
Our teachers provide regular feedback, personal encouragement, and differentiated learning opportunities to stretch children’s abilities while keeping learning fun and collaborative.
Participation in inter-class competitions, exhibitions, musical performances, or creative showcases gives every child a platform to explore and express their skills.
Joining Our Community
When children join our Middle Primary section (Primary 4 to Primary 5), they become part of a warm, inclusive learning community where every child is known, supported, and encouraged to thrive.
Our caring teachers and support staff work closely with each pupil to nurture independence, build confidence, and develop positive learning habits. As children take on more responsibility in their learning, we provide guidance tailored to their growing curiosity and social development.
To help your child settle in with ease, we organise a Middle Primary Welcome Day before the school year begins. This gives new pupils a chance to meet their teachers, tour their classrooms, enjoy interactive activities, and make early friendships in a fun, relaxed atmosphere.
At the start of term, every child is paired with a friendly buddy and receives ongoing support from the class teacher and the Head of Middle Primary to ensure a smooth and happy transition into school life.
