At The Olive School – Namugongo, we are committed to nurturing a love of drama and performance in every pupil. From an early age, we encourage children to express themselves, build confidence, and enjoy the magic of storytelling on stage.
Our budding performers benefit from a vibrant programme of drama lessons and school productions, designed to develop their creativity, communication, and collaborative skills. Whether it’s a class play, poetry recital, or whole-school musical, each child is given the opportunity to shine.
Performances are hosted in our dedicated drama and multipurpose halls, creating a supportive space for pupils to rehearse, act, and showcase their talents to families and peers.
Our experienced drama teachers guide pupils through a wide range of theatrical skills including acting, voice, movement, script writing, and stage presence. Pupils are also introduced to behind-the-scenes roles such as sound, lighting, and costume coordination nurturing both performers and future directors.
As part of our enrichment programme, we invite local theatre practitioners and artists to host special workshops. Older pupils can also prepare for auditions and local competitions, with coaching available in performance techniques and confidence building.
For those passionate about the stage, The Olive School offers pathways into recognised performance certifications such as LAMDA, and we encourage our pupils to explore opportunities in Uganda’s vibrant creative arts community.
