Fees, Discounts and Bursaries

The termly fees for the academic year 2025–2026 at The Olive School – Namugongo are outlined below.

Our school fees include the following:

All classroom tuition and continuous assessment.
Curriculum textbooks and learning materials.
Daily meals for all pupils (morning snack and lunch for day scholars; full meals for boarders).
Participation in co-curricular clubs and activity days held on campus.
Access to the library, play areas, sports equipment, and pastoral care services.
Laundry services and full accommodation for boarders during term time.

Some optional extras and variable costs may be billed separately where applicable. These may include:

Educational field trips and excursions
External examination fees (e.g. Primary Leaving Examinations – PLE)
Private music, drama, or language lessons
Specialised academic support services (if requested)

The above fees cover tuition, learning materials, co-curricular activities, and meals during the school day. Any optional services (e.g., trips, private lessons) may incur additional charges as communicated by the school.

Payment of school fees is due on or before the first day of each term.

Fees can be paid through the following options:
- Bank transfer
- Mobile money (details available from the school office)
- Cash or cheque (payable at the school bursar’s office)
If you would like to arrange a flexible payment plan or installment schedule, please contact our Accounts Office for assistance. We are happy to support families with structured payment arrangements where needed.

All tuition fees are charged termly in advance. Receipts will be issued once payment is confirmed.

The Olive School – Namugongo offers an optional scheme where parents or guardians may choose to make a lump sum payment in advance to cover one or more terms of school fees. Families who opt into this plan may be eligible for a small discount on the total amount paid.

This advance payment option is ideal for families who wish to simplify their financial planning or secure a place for the academic year in advance. All advance payments are receipted and protected under our school finance policy.

Bursaries

The Olive School – Namugongo offers a limited number of bursaries to support children from families who would not otherwise be able to afford private school tuition.

These awards are means-tested and are based on the family’s financial circumstances, number of dependents, and overall ability to contribute to school fees. Each case is reviewed carefully and confidentially by our Finance Committee.

Bursaries may cover a portion of tuition fees and are typically awarded for one academic year, with a review required for renewal.

To apply, parents must complete a bursary application form and provide proof of income, household expenses, and supporting documentation.

This special award is designed for bright, motivated children from low-income backgrounds within our local community. It covers a significant portion of school fees and is available for entry into key years such as Primary 1 or Primary 7 (Transition Class).

Applicants must show strong academic promise, good character, and a willingness to contribute positively to the school community. Priority is given to pupils who live within Namugongo or neighbouring areas and who demonstrate financial need.

Applicants will sit brief age-appropriate assessments in English and Mathematics and will be invited for an interview with the Headteacher and a senior member of staff. A reference from the child’s current school or community leader is also required.
