The Olive School Sailing at Rutland Water

A Foundation of Security and Belonging

A pupil's House is far more than a building; it is the very heart of their experience at The Olive School. It provides a consistent and secure foundation—a place of unwavering support and lasting friendship where they are known, valued, and encouraged. Through house competitions, shared meals, and evening socials, pupils build a powerful sense of identity and camaraderie, forming bonds that often last a lifetime.

A True Home at School

Most importantly, we ensure that a pupil's House truly feels like their home away from home. It is a place where they can be themselves, celebrate their successes, and navigate challenges with the guidance of a dedicated pastoral team. From the moment they arrive, we foster a warm, family atmosphere where every child has a place to belong, ensuring their time at school is not just about academic growth, but about building a rich and fulfilling life

Guided by a dedicated Housemaster or Housemistress, and supported by a caring team of Tutors, Prefects, and a Matron, each of our 16 Houses provides a nurturing family environment. Within this supportive community, every pupil receives the personalized care they need to flourish intellectually, physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

We are committed to caring for your child as you would, recognizing and nurturing each one as a unique, talented, and special individual.

Every House is designed to be a comfortable and stimulating home, filled with diverse spaces for both focused work and joyful relaxation. Boarders and day pupils alike enjoy a range of creature comforts, including personal study areas, spacious common rooms with comfortable sofas, entertainment systems, and a well-stocked kitchenette with fresh fruit, healthy snacks, and hot drinks.
