Our Boarding and Day Community

Visitors to The Olive School – Namugongo often remark on how respectful, joyful, and spiritually grounded our learners are. We believe this stems from our close-knit, values-based community where both boarding and day pupils grow together in faith, friendship, and purpose.

We warmly invite you to visit our campus and experience boarding life at Olive School through one of our upcoming Open Day Events.

Our boarders create a strong family atmosphere that makes the school feel like a second home, while our day pupils anchor us within the local community. Every learner benefits from our Christian ethos and exceptional pastoral care, centred around our supportive House system.

Each pupil whether a boarder or a day scholar belongs to a House that serves as their spiritual, emotional, and social home throughout their school journey.

These Houses are vibrant communities, led by trained staff and designed to foster discipline, leadership, and belonging. Learners take part in healthy inter-house competitions such as sports, quizzes, music, debates, and community service, promoting unity and joyful rivalry.

In our wider school family — where we maintain a high staff-to-pupil ratio — every child is nurtured holistically and supported in multiple ways to thrive academically, emotionally, and spiritually.

Our Boarding Ethos

At The Olive School – Namugongo, we often speak about our “boarding ethos” — but what does this look like in daily life?

We are deeply committed to developing the whole child spiritually, academically, emotionally, and socially. Our Christian boarding environment fosters a culture of love, discipline, and mutual care, where pupils grow in character and community. Whether your child is a boarder or a day pupil, they benefit from this nurturing, family-style setting designed to instill values and inspire excellence.

  • A dedicated team of House Parents, teachers, and matrons who offer daily care, guidance, and encouragement.
  • A strong House identity rooted in Biblical values, where children form lifelong friendships and learn to support one another.
  • An integrated experience combining academics, pastoral care, and co-curricular activities that challenge pupils and spark their talents.
  • A close partnership with families, whether your child is enrolled as a full boarder, flexible boarder, or day scholar.
