At The Olive School Namugongo, we believe that every child is born with creativity a gift from God and we aim to nurture that gift through joyful and expressive Art learning.
Our Art and Design programme encourages each pupil to explore, create, and grow in confidence. Through painting, drawing, sculpture, crafts, and digital media, children develop fine motor skills, visual thinking, and self-expression.
Our well-equipped Art Room is always alive with colour, imagination, and energy. Pupils experiment with a variety of materials such as charcoal, pastels, clay, recycled materials, fabric, and watercolours. We also introduce digital design tools and simple photography projects for upper primary learners.
We regularly host visiting local artists and craftspeople who run child-friendly workshops in painting, beadwork, tie-dye, and paper craft. Pupils also enjoy guided field trips to local art centres, cultural festivals, and historical sites to inspire them through real-world creativity.
Art is not only part of the curriculum it’s part of our school life. Pupils' work is displayed proudly across campus and celebrated during our annual Creative Arts Week and End-of-Term Art Exhibition, which parents are warmly invited to attend.
"Art helps children see the beauty in God’s creation. It teaches them to observe, to understand others, and to value their own gifts. Through creativity, we learn to appreciate our differences and grow in community, love, and purpose."
