Performance Sport

As part of The Olive School – Namugongo’s commitment to nurturing talent and performance in our young athletes, our dedicated sports coaches provide ongoing personalised support to help pupils balance their academic work with sporting ambitions.

We work closely with local sports academies, community clubs, and district-level associations to help our talented pupils develop their skills and access wider opportunities in football, netball, swimming, cricket, athletics, and other disciplines.

Training focuses on all aspects of a child’s physical development, including strength, agility, coordination, and speed – always adapted to their age and stage. Our coaches also guide pupils on healthy habits beyond the pitch, such as proper recovery, hydration, and nutrition, equipping them with life-long skills for health and wellbeing.

These sessions also give children a chance to enjoy active play, build friendships, and release energy in a positive way, helping them stay motivated both in and out of the classroom.

Many Olive School pupils have gone on to represent their school and district in inter-school tournaments, with some progressing to compete in national-level competitions across Uganda in sports such as football, netball, and athletics.
