Health and Fitness

At The Olive School – Namugongo, teaching our pupils how to lead a healthy lifestyle and enjoy physical activity is a core part of our education.

We aim to promote a culture of wellbeing throughout the school by integrating sports, co-curricular activities, and strong pastoral care into daily life. With a variety of sports on offer – from football, netball, and athletics to swimming and cricket – pupils have the opportunity to participate either competitively or for recreation, discovering activities they will enjoy for life.

Our pupils are taught the importance of keeping both mind and body fit as part of our life skills and health education programme. Our school nurse, sports coaches, and pastoral team are always available to offer guidance, encouragement, and support to meet each child’s individual needs.

Healthy eating is also an important part of our approach to pupil wellbeing. Our catering team provides balanced, nutritious meals every day, with many ingredients sourced from trusted local suppliers. From breakfast and mid-morning snacks to lunch, sports refreshments, and evening meals, there’s always a variety of fresh fruit, vegetables, proteins, and wholesome options on offer to fuel active young minds and bodies.
